Ill detail a scenario that seems to happen intermittently, were hoping someone has an explanation to this.

Small office with 8 phones, 6 T42G, 2 T46G, all provisioned using Direct Stun, pfsense firewall with all the proper firewall settings set per the documentation, and using the same config we have deployed on over 40 other systems, the phone server is in the datacenter with its own static ip, etc.

Everything works fine 99% of the time. But intermittently between 2-15 times a day, the following will happen.

Caller calls into the main line which hits a ring group of the 6 T42s, MIKE answers, and the caller wants to talk to JOE, so MIKE tells them to hold and sticks the call on SP0, And tells JOE to pick it up, JOE hits SP0, and it just sits there spinning, so he hits it again, then again, then on the 3rd-5th attempt it finally picks up.

Occasionally something will happen where the phone having the issue will say, Transfer Failed, Hold, or some such message.

I was able to replicate the scenario after a number of tries from my cell phone, and when the SP0 is pressed, my cell phone looses the hold music, and just hears dead air, but 3CX still shows im on SP0, when the call finally does pickup, it shows im now on the phone with the person in question.

Notice in the below log, 9:47:23 and 9:48:17, Eli is trying to get the call to pick back up, but its just "connecting" on his desk phone.

On one of the phones, go to settings/configuration/pcap and capture some sip traffic. Use wireshark to look through the sip flow and rtp traffic. Every time that I have had this issue, it was a network problem. The capture should show if you are losing packets.

found this in the activity log:
Code:
06/19/2018 9:47:42 AM - Call to T:Extn:109@[Dev:sip:[email protected]:5074] from L:7049.1[Line:10001<<13039294095] failed, cause: Cause: 603 Decline/INVITE from 174.79.42.102:5074
06/19/2018 9:47:42 AM - [CM503003]: Call(C:7049): Call to <sip:[email protected]:5060> has failed; Cause: 603 Decline/INVITE from 174.79.42.102:5074

Bump, this issue is still persisting

Hello @DocTechAZ

I would recommend creating a ticket with our support department regarding this issue so they can look into the logs of the system and possibly a wireshark capture and determine what is causing the issue.
