So the system is as follows.

A 2N Helios door phone button press calls a ring group. At the first phone picked up, the person pushes a line key that sends an apprpriate code to the doorphone relay, which sends a hash to the lock which opens the door.

I'd like to do this pre-emptively so that when a user sees someone at the door, they can "buzz" them in without the visitor ringing the bell. .

Line key and dtmf strings work for doorphone-initiated connections. just not the other way.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Lots of ideas but it depends on the lock.

Also not really a 3CX question since 3CX doesn't make door hardware or anything to 'see' someone coming up to the door so you might be better off in an access control forum.

The only way to do what you want is if the door lock unit allowed you to dial it, have it answer, then input the DTMF tone(s) to unlock. I have not heard of one that behaves that way, they usually rely on someone being at the door to initiate, as most are not within view. You could connect a push button to operate the solenoid directly without involving the PBX.

This should be possible as we do this with our two 2N intercoms. Set the 2N under Service, Phone, Incoming calls to auto answer. Then you simply dial the extension number for the door, it answers immediately, then enter the unlock code.

Thanks all Great Hints!

Happy Holidays!
