Hi Folks,

normally I wait for rainy days before starting some "computer-based adventures". But today I made an exception because the fax functionality from 3CX sounds too exciting not to try- even in a sunny day

To say it short: I feel frustrated. In all manuals I read, even in this forum, will not be clarified what's exactly the requirements for the 3CX fax functionality and the "How To" for a successful integration.

My 3CX (newest corporate-version) runs in the meantime quite smooth. As far I can see all function are working well. I use the following equipment:

3CX Phone System (Version5.1.4510.0)
Patton SN4552/2BIS/EUI
Hardware Version 2.1
Software Version R4.2 2008-01-17 SIP
and updated Templates.

There is a ISDN line connected to the Patton SN4552 for all incoming and outgoing calls. A SIP-Provider also exists (sipgate.de) but is currently not in use.

I added a DID in the line section for the ISDN-based fax number which is 979899. This DID is specified as "Which calls are faxes - All calls". If there is a (fax-)call, the 3CX system will pick it correctly, but, how strange, immediately hang up (Call::Terminate [CM503008]: Call(81): Call is terminated ).

Here is a copy from the protocol:

18:23:13.710 MediaServerReporting::RTPReceiver [MS105000] C:81.2: No RTP packets were received:remoteAddr=192.168.100.250:10004,extAddr=0.0.0.0:0,localAddr=127.0.0.1:7370

It's my understanding, that a fax call by the ISDN line should be taken from the Patton SN4552 and processed by the 3CX Software, am I right? Hmmm, but why are all fax calls immediately terminated?

"Lords of 3CX World", please bring some light in that darkness

Thanks in advance,

Voiper

Make sure your license is properly activated.
If problem still persist I would suggest to use our support.

Hi Archie,

thanks for your reply. I made the upgrade before two weeks. After that upgrade it was already again the free version. Then I registered with the license I had from the previous version and it worked well, which means the license appeared registered. So what to do now?

Best regards,

Voiper

This is a post for technical support. If you have a commercial version with a support package, please make a support request to get further help. If you are a 3CX partner, you can also post in the partner forum.

Fax is indeed processed by Patton, but it requires that fax is enabled on the patton. Therefore you must use the 3CX supplied configuration templates for your device. Did you use those?

Hi Nick,

of course I used the 3CX specific template for the SN4552. Like I said, all is working well, the only issue is the fax functionality. Is there a certain method to prove if the license is registered properly? In the "license" section of the administration center appears the product "3CXPSSBNFR" Version 5. Thanks for your appreciated help.

You have an NFR version, so i assume you are a 3CX partner? If yes then you can contact our support department as a 3Cx partner. Please go there for more questions.

Thanks for your hint. Yes, I am a 3CX partner. I will ask now the support department for 3Cx partner.
