Hi use, the CX 3 APP 1.1.4 with Sipgate, my iphone 4 ios 5.0.1. Among my settings in the app multitasking is enabled. Close the app and then you should normally be run continuously in the background and you do not, so no permanent connection to the Sipgate server. Am for a half hour to hour away.

Not sure if this is the issue but I'll add to it with my similar situation. We have two users using iPhone app 1.1.4 on an iPhone 4 and 4S. Both users have reported that the apps unregister when in the background over time. No scientific measurements to determine what causes or when it happens. The have Multitasking mode selected. Any ideas for keeping the app registered?

    This happens here to.
Tested on 2 phones. 3CX unregisters after a phone has been locked for a while.
Multitasking is enabled (but not working).

There is a limitation on how apps work in the "Background" in iOS. When a running application is pushed to the background in iOS4 or higher, it is put into a suspended state. It is not actually ‘running’ any more. Because the app is in a suspended state, it won’t impact the performance of an application running in the foreground nor will it consume a lot of battery. More importantly, for a VoIP application like 3CX for iPhone, the application cannot perform any actions for a minimum of 600 seconds. This means the app cannot perform any SIP registrations, keep-alives, or other actions that a VoIP application normally executes in order to maintain connectivity. Apple did provide support for the maintenance of TCP-based connections for VoIP applications while in the background however. Try switching to TCP transport if your PBX support it.
