Hello,

We are an IT company and looking to move 8 different customers onto 3cx cloud. Approx 8-12 extensions each with 3 year contracts on each customer. Is it best to get an annual license or perpetual ? Can an annual or perpetual license be transferred to another customer if necessary ?

Any advise would be appreciated.

TY

Perpetual license for 3 years = 100% (initial purchase) + 2x 25% (maintenance for 2nd and 3rd year) = 150%
Annual license for 3 years = 3x 50% = 150%
so the cost for 3 years is the same, if price scheme don't change over time, but with perpetual license you would have one remained active after 3rd year.

Regarding registration of licenses better register them to yourself as hosted instances, not to specific customers.

I believe in the teach a man to fish method so...

That should answer your question about which direction to go. Cost aside, annual licenses cease to function (actually I guess noone knows exactly what happens since they haven't been available for a year yet) but they will either stop functioning or revert to the PBX edition license which would result in reduced functionality/simultaneous calls.

Regarding registration, 3CX is just software so do what you would do with any other software. If you register it to a customer it's effectively theirs. If you register it to yourself then you retain control.
