3cx Free Standard License

Hi Everyone,

Is 3cx Free Standard license free forever? If not, what will happen after a year? Also, how many SIP hard phones can be provisioned on a free license?

Not 100% sure what happens now after first free year for STD license, but for sure there is no license limitation for number of extensions you can use on PBX. So if you need a thousand of deskphones it's possible, you just need pbx hardware to be enough strong to make it work properly.

If I'm not wrong license may turn into 4SC or 8SC STD after first year and stay like that , free for ever(until 3cx change is mind). Of course if you need more SC or more feature you need to pay for an upgrade of your existing license . Also it may depends if you are actually free hosted by 3CX or self hosted.

The 3CX Free STD edition license is free for the foreseeable future, it has been free for years already and I don't believe this will be changing any time soon!

The Trial (Free STD) license you receive when signing up is 8SC (simultaneous call) license, and after the 1 year trial ends, it remains a 8SC license.

As for how many phones can be provisioned, we don't have a limit on this. It's limited only by the hardware of the machine that's hosting it.
