I have recently installed the newest version (V1.0.23) on my iPhone4. It registered fine on my Wifi as an internal extension.

I disabled the internal Wifi and tried connecting it through a different Wifi and 3G as external extension, but no luck.

I have the following info in:

Internal server address
External server address (Public IP of the 3CX)

As I said, it works fine as internal, but not as external.

Please help

have you set the Firewall to NAT the external Ports of your PBX?
What for a filrewall are you useing.
For example a 3CX PBX behind an FirtzBox in germany will always fail and you have to move the PBX and the NAT to an new port

Thanks for the reply Stefan

I can connect remotely from a standard soft phone from my laptop so that is working.
I am using a D-Link DIR100 and NAT is enabled

Do you use your 3CX Phone with tunnel there maybe?
Try plz this just to be sure.
Enable in ur iphone Thering and use this in ur PC as internet connection.
Then try to register the same VoIP Client to the pbx.
If it is the 3CX Phone do not use the tunnel, due to this is not implemented in the iphone version

If I use my 3CX Phone without tunnel, I can register but cannot make any calls.

I have to connect via the tunnel and can then make and receive calls.

I need the iPhone to register and make calls as I am going to Zanzibar on Friday.
How can we work around the Tunnel issue on the iPhone?

I have the feeling that the desktop app and the iphone app have the same issues.
The issues are not in the phone, they are more located at ur firewall.
Do you have port 5060 TCP and UPD frwd. to your pbx? There must be an issue!

If not, can you vpn into your network?
This will be at the time the savest way to ensure u are always connected to the pbx.
Create a vpn in our iphone to connect to your network
in the iphone app just fill in the "internal ip of the pbx" and finshed
