hi i know on the windows version of the SBC (latest) a script is scheduled to restart the service overnight.

Can someone confirm if the same CRON Job is being created on debian SBC? As i have had few occassions where we have had to manually restart the service. Thanks for your help

The following commands will do this:

    Edit the scheduler with

    sudo crontab -e

and then add a line anywhere, but at the end might be best, as follows:

    0 0 * * * service 3cxsbc restart

If you have never edited the scheduler, it will ask you to pick an editor, probably NANO will be the best one to pick. Once you have added the line HIT CTRL X and say yes and it will be done.

After all that - we use a different technique which is more immediate called MONIT. You'll need to study up a little as a lesson on how to setup and configure monit is beyond the scope of a forum message. But you can use it to detect when the service has failed and restart it as well as send you an email about the event.

    Hi Sona,

Yes, the same CRON job is created for Debian and raspberry. To confirm run the following command.
    ls -la /etc/cron.d
You will see a file 3cxsbc.
