We run 3CX and we're pretty happy with it, been using it for about 5 years. As we've grown we've set up many employees with laptops running 3CX phone on Win 7. The problem we're running into is that carving up the network into voice and data does not seem possible when softphones are in the mix.

Is there a way to create a virtual NIC or something in 3CX for Windows softphone that would allow us to control the MAC address or something to give us more control over the handling of voice traffic when generated from within a PC?

If you prioritize the traffic as it reaches your switch (ingress tagging for DSCP, for the RTP streams), that might get you the QoS you might think you need.

Certainly you are looking to assign priority by MAC.. not an ideal method anyway, given the type (class) of traffic is what matters here, not the source address.

That aside, you may want to consider how little traffic volume is generated itself.. though the quality of said traffic does matter.
Again, I'd suggest approaching QoS by the type of traffic being used, not by who is sending the traffic.

Oh, and deep six your web and torrent connections. ;)
