TrueCNAM is a free service with API access that allows CNAM lookups and Caller Reputation lookups.

Ideally, 3cx could allow incoming calls to be screened through True CNAM. If a caller's reputation is sufficiently bad, either block the call or pass it to an IVR prompt that forces the caller to hit a random number or otherwise
prove they are human. Callcentric offers this on their trunks, and it's been very helpful. I would love to see this integrated into 3cx. It would be a compelling feature.

External CNAM lookups in general would be nice. Some providers charge a high rate (per DID) to include this information, and if we could have the phone system do a "dip" only when it's not in the 3CX phonebook, we could cut out a lot of unnecessary cost.

You could do this with a Call Flow Designer (CFD) application. Simply send all inbound calls to the CFD, have the CFD perform the lookup, and forward the call accordingly. The only concern would be the amount of time required to perform the lookup. If the lookup is slow, the caller might experience some dead-air while the lookup is being performed. We could set a maximum timeout for the lookup and cancel the lookup if it took too long. Doesn't sound hard from where I sit.

I need to look into this further - our spammy calls are increasing.
