Going over the system it appears that the log file '3CXPhoneSystem.log' has no ageing (e.g. individual file for each day) or archiving options, and if you restart the services the log is reset ?.

Other than creating a batch file to regularly copy the log file to another location and rename it I see no other way of retaining this log for long periods ?.

If there's no way of doing this out of the box then I'll put in a feature request.

    Thanks.

The 3CXPhonesystem file is never deleted, it is simply moved to a different directory after it reaches a 2mb size or after the services are restarted.
The file is moved to the C:\ProgramData\3CX\Data\Logs\Backup\ folder

    Hi Leonidas,

    Thanks for the reply.

I've already seen the date specific sub-folders under 'C:\ProgramData\3CX\Data\Logs\Backup\', however, the logs I get under these are just '3CXDialer' and '3CXQueueManager'.

The date specific Backup folders do not contain any 3CXPhoneSystem logs :(

    Thanks.

You can make the Phonesystem backup those logs as well by Checking the box in your: Settings > General > Advanced: Logging level: Verbose "Keep backup of log files"

Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...

You know I didn't pay much attention to that setting as I noticed that the Backup folder already existed with the '3CXDialer' and '3CXQueueManager' logs in it. I've now enabled it and will monitor what occurs, thanks :)

Out of interest how come the two log types above were being backed up even though 'Keep backup of log files' had not been checked ?.

It is simply how we made the behavior by default.
You can edit your logging preferences in more detail if you like by editing the:
    C:\ProgramData\3CX\bin\logger.ini file

You can specify whether you want each log file to be backed up as well by editing the: KeepBackup=1 option for each log file.
