The S6 is on Verizon with the latest firmware.
What's the trick to get the microphone to work?
    I've tried microphone source advanced/basic.
    I've tried audio subsystem OpenSL/Java.
I've checked the app permissions to make sure all were enabled.

Maybe your issue is not related to the microphone it's self? There are thousands users using the S6 without any issues. It's not possible that our application has selected you in specific as a the lucky winner! :D

I think you'd need to check a bit more your PBX configuration rather than the 3CX Client it's self.
Please check this article for the ports required for the phonesystem to work in general, in specific, the part about audio.

    I hope this helps.

Problem fixed. Thanks for the response.
I didn't assume there was any issue with server or client software. I assumed it was something I was overlooking.
It turns out that on a router with heavy firewall rules, that "accept" entries are needed for most if not all the ports that were spelled out in the documentation for NAT. Once I got the Accepts to match the NATs, it's all working as expected. BTW, we are using a Mikrotik router and initially followed the 3CX set up document for that router. 3CX is awesome.
