Answer different extension

    I'm wondering if there is a way to answer another extension. If someone is calling someone in our department and they have stepped out of the office is there a way to answer that call on a different phone? On our old PBX we could press a key combination to pick up whatever extension we wanted to.

    The answer is yes.


    Look in the advanced settings (pre V14) or settings PBX (v14) of your 3CX installation for dial codes. Look for the code associated to "pickup a call". The default is *20* which will pick up any extension that is ringing on a first come first serve basis. You can also use the code with an extension number to pick up only that extension that is ringing. Additionally, you can place certain limits on groups so that only members of a group can only pickup calls from other members of the same group. The manual has the details on the features.
