    Hi all!

Today, we were discussing around the office how we could better indicate to others that we were on a call, and someone had the idea of a status light that could integrate with our 3CX softphones via the API to indicate that we are on a call, as it isn't always obvious if we are waiting on hold, or example.

One example we found was the Luxafor (https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2017/2/8/14548514/luxafor-light-kickstarter-project) which looked like a neat idea. I also found another person who created a neat presence light that integrates with Lync (https://www.hanselman.com/blog/IsDaddyOnACallABusyLightPresenceIndicatorForLyncForMyHomeOffice.aspx) and it got me wondering -- has anyone come up with a solution like this for 3CX?

Would love to hear the ideas you've had, or better yet actually implemented, if you've done something similar!

Isn't the BLF side panel in 3CX softphone or presence screen not doing the job ? You can set also custom statuses, etc.

Hi sip.bg! We're looking for a physical indicator light that could be placed in the window of our workspaces or doorways. We do use status messages, but it isn't helpful for people who will just walk up and try to start to talk to us while on a call.

Depends on the environment, you can use a monitor to display status of all your colleagues (in switchboard view mode for example). For single user is not cost justifiable. All other solutions mean either hardware and/or software custom development.

Not sure I would agree about cost being unjustified. You could use an Arduino, a LED Matrix driver (https://www.itead.cc/itead-colors-shield.html) and a LED matrix (https://www.itead.cc/60mm-square-8-8-led-matrix-rgb-circle-dot.html) for about $25. Probably less if bought in bulk.
