According to an older posting on the blog (http://www.3cx.com/blog/extension-user-manual/use-3cx-voip-tunnel-for-iphone/), using VoIP Tunnel should enable an auto-detection functionality and switch from Available to Away or DND or Out of Office.

Is this auto-detect functionality supposed to work on V14 ? Right now the status is always Available, should we be in the LAN or outside on cellular network.

Hi
I assume you get confused about the "Out of office" term, which appears in two, completely different and unrelated things:

- the first one is your profile (or account) status. It's basically a hint for other extensions about your availabilty to handle a call. It's displayed on the top-left corner and can have, technically speaking, five values: Available, Away, Out of office, Available 2, Out of office 2. The last two can be customized to have different names to better reflect the real status (for instance Lunch or Business Trip). In status case, "Out of office" means, basically, you're not at your desk so you cannot answer a call.
- the second case is network-related, in conjunction with "in office". The "in office" term means, basically, your phone is in intranet (LAN) with the PBX it connects, while "out of office" means you're on internet (WAN).

Now, back to your question:
The tunnel has nothing to do with the first case (the account status); it's involved only in the second one - network connectivity. It only simplifies the internet (out of office) network connection between the phone and the PBX.

So, as long as you see Available, Away... on the top-left corner of the display, it's OK; the only thing you have to do is to tap and select/configure the status you want, without thinking at the tunnel or connection's in/out-of-office mode.

Hope is clear now

Regards

OK yes it's clear.
So is it possible to have the status to change automatically when the phone detects that it leaves the LAN and connects to the PBX through the WAN ?
