Older versions would auto-assign a new extension with the next extension number, by adding 1 to the last extension number assigned, or, finding the first open "slot" in the extension list. This was a godsend..

    Please bring this back.

Does anyone know how hard it is to find an available extension slot when there's 7 pages of extensions in production, with daily additions and removals by multiple admins?

    Am I missing something?

(I also thought I saw this in another thread but cannot find it - Please cross-reference as needed)

I now understand that extensions start at 000. I'll just import "dummy" extensions to avoid extensions starting with 0. Otherwise, system behaves as it used to.
