Automatic Hold for 2nd, 3rd caller...

    Hi,

    We have 3cx configured to send incoming phone calls to a Ring Group (1 desk phone, 1 DECT phone), which then gets answered by the receptionist. However, if the receptionist is on the phone call, and a second, third, fourth call comes is...is there a way to have the call be automatically answered by the Auto Attendant with the option to either leave a message or continue to wait on hold?

    Scratching my head on this one, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Well, the receptionist extension, and any forwarding options, will be the same with any other extension. You can sent it to a digital receptionist, with options to route elsewhere, but it won't really go on hold, then "circle" back. You might consider using a queue, with the receptionist being the one member. If they are free, they get the call, if busy, the caller would get a message to hold, then the call would be presented when the receptionist were free. A second receptionist could be easily added if necessary.

    Have you tried forwarding the call to a queue with only the recepcionist? You will be able to set how many waiting calls the receptionist will have and queue reports for statistics.

    On the queue the calls are put on hold until the next rep is available.
