With previous versions, we created a script that allowed us to maintain 30-days of backups. With v14 and a fixed filename and no variable options, we can only keep last nights backup. Either having the CLI back or more options in the web scheduled backups would be very helpful.

Also, with the new backup in v14, there is no indicator that a backup is running when you say run now.

Are you on SP2? In the 'Backup Schedule' option, you can 'Configure backup rotation' which retains the last xx days of backups. We copy the latest backup file off every night to an external archive but retain a weeks worth on the server for convenience.

Still - a variable would be nice - ie: datestamp. I used to backup "2015-12-29-3cx.zip" in previous versions.

Agreed - would gain additional benefit from variables - always nice to add flexibility.

we include client name in file name. then upload to a secure ftp store so we can differentiate source company.

even with 14sp2 we need a script just to rename 3cxscheduledbackup.zip

I imagine the multi-tenant cloud version may be a bit more complicated than single tenant to manage the backups. Nick and team have been great at listening to us on some of these features lately. I hope this is one of them.

In our case, we have all of our 3CX clients do an FTP backup to the same server and we want to have it has part of a template. The more a tech has to touch on a new install, the greater the chance for a mistake.
