Has anyone done a bridge between a 3cx box and say asterisks?

And if so what major issues did they face?

Depends on how/what you intend to bridge it for.

Yes I have and have documented it here:

There are no real issues to speak of if you understand how to do the dial plans on each system.

Just replace "trixbox CE" with "3CX" ("IP PBX") and it will be true as well.

    Thanks
P.S. please inform us if you meet any issues...

We just did this last week to test something for a client. Had a 3CX to Trixbox CE SIP trunk working with no problems.
