    Hi,
I have 2 linksys spa941 IP phones, and a few softphones.
Just wondering how to get Call pickup and Call park to work.
When i try to park a call, the phone displays: "invalid park number".
And when i try to pickup another extensions call, the phone just beeps.

Does 3CX support the above features, if so, how can i get them to work?

    Thanks!

Not sure if it does actually.

But if it doesn't time to put it up on the wish list. I have not tried this, I am trying to get call forward to work myself. (not sure if that is supported either ).

THis is a typical question for support.

Yes, we are working on it :)

we are going to be adding it to the Call Assistant, though it wont make it in time for the next build. We will also try to find a way to implement it via a special number/dial sequence...

Any status on the Call Park/Pickup feature?

In using it in my office now for over a Month I have seen where this feature could come in handy for us. I am out away from my desk a lot when I find myself running back to my office to answer the phone when I am standing next to one.

    Thanks,

    Paul Kothe

    Call Park

Thanks for the update. I am looking forward to that. Things are looking good here and there seems to be plenty of interest. Keep up the good work. Just FYI for your minimum requirements the system does not run good on a PIII/1Ghz with 768MB of RAM. I purchased a new workstation class machine with Windows XP Pro P4/3Ghz with 512MB of RAM and it runs much better. It was an HP box that cost around 400.00. I am curous to test it on an existing small business server.

Obvious, the more grund the better, mine is running on :
Poweredge dual PIII 933 with 2gb ram.

    Sits on it together with:
    SBS
    ISA
    Weatherstation
    Exchange
    Network Virus protection thingy
    Backup server
and some other bits and pieces.

Processor only hits a max of 20% memory is always 99% but that is because Exchange so no drama there.

    Works like a dream.

From my opinion. SBS is the best platform for this software but it runs without a problem on the other windows platforms (not so sure about Vista though).

Great!! Thanks for the reply I want to offer my smaller customers an option of putting it on their server for obvious financial reasons and that benchmark of yours helps out.

    No worries.

I also tried to run it on Virtual Machines etc. but found no performance increase or benifits.

Keeping it simple and clean is the best option. I think there was another user trying to come up with a keyturn type solution, there is a post about that somewhere.

Anyway, if you want more stats or network traffic stuff let me know and Ill post some.

Call pickup will be in the next version, and will be possible from every phone by dialing *10*<extension number>. This version should be ready next week.

Call Park will be in the version after that, in about 1-2 months time.

    Nick,

I've made star-code for call pickup configurable in INI file, because some phones treat '*' in weird way. So it is possible to make user-defined call pickup code, like '9100<ext>' for example, if stars are not dialed correctly on some user's phones. And, let me add, one can also pick up random ringing phone if extension number is not dialed after pickup code.

Can the ini file define for (If ext only 3 digit):

    9100 for pickup ext 100, 101 or 102 only
    9200 for pickup ext 103, 104 or 105 only

    or

at ext 100, 101 or 102 dial 9100 will pickup the ext which is ringing only
at ext 103, 104 or 105 dial 9100 will pickup the ext which is ringing only

    Syntax for the entry

There does not appear to be an entry in the ini file for me to change. What is the syntax for the entry in the file to define the Call Pickup digits? Or is this defined in the phone or both?

Is there a road map of what features might be included in version 4?
