I can no longer make outgoing calls using V5
    VOIP Provider: Broadvoice
    IP phone: Grandstream 2000
I used the template to setup Broadvoice
I had no problems using v3.1

    :(

I took it a step further.
I did a fresh install of V5 on another computer and I get the same results.

I think whats happening is your remote extension is initiating a call and broadvoice tries to respond, but because you using a non-routeable private IP (192.168.50.2) it hangs up. Your remote extension should be initiating that request with the NAT firewalls public IP and not your private non-routable IP. STUN would keep the NAT Firewalls port open so when Broadvoice tried to respond it would be successful.

    richie314nj,
Comparing 2 lines from your failed call log and 2 lines of mine on a successful call out on Broadvoice I believe the issue is your remote extension 102 is sending out its private ip. In my log my ext 505 has a private IP of 192.168.0.44, but using STUN and a feature in my voip ata It uses the IP address of my NAT,76.184.178.165.

Since SIP uses TCP/IP as its transport and devices are talking point-to-point then it stands to reason that broadvoices public ip can not talk to your private IP.

You need to look at your remote extension voip settings for something that says use NAT address for IP. I have a Linksys PAP2 that has that and I used to use a Grandstream 386 that also had that feature.

I would look there to see if you can't fix this.

webguyz, sorry, but you confuse richie314nj with completely wrong information.
First, PBX is using UDP protocol as preferred, although it supports TCP/IP either. But in any case, all calls are proxied by PBX, so there's no direct communication between phone and provider.

Second, I see no message regarding successful resolution of external IP:port mapping. Probably, it's just skipped, but we have to be sure that external mapping has been resolved by STUN client.

Third, according to logs all is ok, beside STUN resolution. The only thing I can not understand is this line:

    Calling: VoIPline:10000@[Dev:sip:9738331973@sip.broadvoice.com:5060, Dev:sip:9738331973@sip.broadvoice.com:5060]

Actually, there should be only one [Dev:... ] in square brackets.

Fourth, it seems broadvoice terminates connection after call has been established. Most probable reason for this is absence of common codec. Make sure you have enabled codecs for that providers. I do not remember which codecs it supports, but at least make sure that G711 and GSM are available. And, just in case, check your balance at broadvoice :)

    Welcome :)

    Just some afterthoughts.

Actually, call has been established. It means that broadvoice had been able to talk back to PBX, so Contact is duly. But after that broadvoice has dropped a call. Most probably it is a codecs issue.

    Thank you for the information.
I will look at the settings again and check the codecs.
I'll let you all know how I make out.

Thanks you all for your help.

I've downloaded the updated Broadvoice template, deleted the account, recreated the account using the newly download template, and I used teh same exact settings as I had did before. Now I'm able to make outgoing calls via Broadvoice.

I believe there may have been a bug in the original template in V5.

Once again thank you for all your input.

I'm also having this problem, and cannot make any outgoing calls with v5.1!

The error line in my setup contains Many instances of "Dev:sip" within the brackets. A bug with a string being appended and not replaced?

Are you stun servers working correctly? ( i had this problem either today, and found the stun server ports (some of them were getting blocked/port in usage message)

Have you got the correct settings in your outbound call manager?
Have you got credit on your account?

Check to see if you have STUN activated and an outgoing proxy server defined simultaneously. Some providers don't properly handle the outgoing call when these two things are both active.

where and which (stun)ports do I have to change? The outside IP has been mapped to the 3cx server.
I think the settings are correct because registering is ok

    look at my other posting
