    Hello readers

I have just updated from 12.5 to 14 and have serious problems with one extension that runs on a Cisco 525G.

    1. It does not register itself anymore. The error I see on the phone interface (Info -> Ext. Status -> Registration State) is: No response
Updated to the latest Firmware 7.6.1, even did Factory Reset. The phone just does not register or provision anymore. Haven't got this problem with the Snom or Cisco 504G.

    2. Looking in the 3CX Server Manager under "Phones", that particular extension suddenly has a "shadow phone" with the same number called "3CX Push Service", the IP it's running on is 127.0.0.1 (localhost). Don't understand what this should be but maybe a reason for the problem.

BTW: Went back to 12.5. and all was fine again. The phone registered and provisioned as it should.

    Any ideas?

Well, the 3CX PUSH just means that for this extension you had enabled the "3CX PUSH for smartphones" which is under the "3CXPhone" tab.

As for the extension not registering that I cannot explain. Did you restore a backup from V12.5 onto V14 or was it a clean install? Did the phone register to the same extension as it was on V12.5?

    Hi Nick

Yes I restored the 12.5 into 14 since I was forced to do so when upgrading. After I rolled back to 12.5 the phone registered fine again. Just on 14 it made problems.

What I also noticed is when I installed V14, at the end no message box popped saying something "Installation finished" or similar. The progress box just at some point disappeared and nothing more happened which I thought is pretty strange too.

    Installing on W2008-R2 btw.

Indeed there is no message when the installation finishes but you do get the Management Console shortcut in the desktop.

As far as the SPA525 goes, I cannot think why this would happen, but I thing I have very useful with Cisco phones sometimes is forcefully reprovisioning them using the following link:
http://<IP of the Phone>/admin/resync?http://<IP or FQDN of 3CX Server>:<HTTP Port, not HTTPS>/provisioning/<Random Prov Folder Name>/$MA.xml
    e.g. http://192.168.1.100/admin/resync?http://192.168.1.2:80/provisioning/kp30jyo2eq/$MA.xml

The phone should go, pickup the new prov file and most likely restart.

One more reason I can think of is if the default template is being used. Try resetting it to Factory Settings, changing the extension in the Management Console to the default template and using the above link.
