I recently upgraded my client from 5 to the latest build of 6, and for whatever reason I am no longer able to connect to my 3CX server. I keep receiving "authentication failed" and I've ensured my login credentials are correct. I've also tried connecting with and without STUN, and deleting/recreating extensions with no luck. Finally I tried with a tunnel connection but I've never been able to get that to connect (still am unsure as to why).

All my earlier version clients connect with no problem. I was curious if anyone else has experienced connection issues after upgrading, and if so how they resolved it.

    Thanks!

I believe so - 6.0.727.0. I've also read you need to have the latest version of 3CX running, and I have 6.0.806.0.

It was through that installing client and server on the same box matt where I ran into this. That client is not connecting locally to the server (that connects fine), rather outside to my work 3CX server. I don't use the client that much so prior to this I was running an earlier version.

Nope same results on other computers running latest client. I haven't tried xlite, but let me give that a try and see.

Ok never used X-lite before, downloaded and installed. Configured by just putting in my extension settings and my 3CX server IP and worked like a charm - both inbound and outbound. Didn't have to modify any other settings.

One thing I have noticed is I receive authentication failed only in headset mode. Switch over to desktop mode and all the extensions are listed, so it seems I'm connected, but the extensions only show when STUN is enabled.

I've tried both, and receive different results.

IP: Get authentication failed with and without STUN enabled on headset mode (no extensions listed). However with STUN enabled I do get extensions listed in desk phone mode.

Name: NO authentication failed with and without STUN enabled on headset mode. However no extensions listed in either headset or desk phone mode. Able to receive calls on client fine. Try to make outbound call from client and Forbidden is displayed on client window. Check server log and get the following:

Correct. We've tried a few clients on different workstations located outside from where are 3CX server is located (we remote connect [RDP] to those locations to test outside connnections).

I'm not connecting through a VPN or tunnel. I've tried with STUN and without, but always receive authentication failed. Funny thing is when I do enable STUN my contacts are shown in desk phone mode. It's only with the latest version/build I get this authentication problem. Earlier builds, such as 5, connect without problem.

So I'm really at a lost as to what my problem is with the latest 3CX client.

    Hi,

I'm testing a free version of 3cx system.

I have configured 3 extensions, 1 is working fine, but the other 2 does not.

All extensions are configured with the same parameters/options.

3cx software phone works fine with only 1 extension, allways the same. The other 2 give me "Not connected".

The 3cx systems log indicates that there is a problem with user id and password but there is no differences.

Do you have any idea about this?

    Thanks and regards,

    Enrique
