If a caller hits voicemail. They hit 0 it goes to the system operator.
However if there is no operator just a ring group it would be nice to specify a destination as the ring group.

Or a hybrid IVR voicemailo for each extension. So while the greeting is played you could have different options. Like press 1 to be forwarded to cell. press 2 to go back to ....

I've often thought an option like "Press 7 to have the person paged within the building." (I think ESI has this feature)
Hybrid IVR puts call on Park.
IVR pages person using "<Recorded Name> you have a call on xxx"
User sets up custom timeouts, perhaps 30,60,90 seconds
If no answer, the IVR comes back and says "The person you are trying to page is not available. <Repeats IVR without the Paging option, 1 for Cell, 2 for etc...>"

Each extension can setup their own IVR with the options they prefer.
    1-Voicemail
    2-Cell Phone
    3-Page
    4-Assistant
    5-Operator/Directory/etc.

There are a lot of systems that allow a simple (single, selectable destination per extension) option so that if the caller does not wish to leave a message and "zeros out", the option can sent the call someone else in the same department rather than back to a receptionist. Having one destination (the reception extension) for everyone, doesn't offer very much flexibility.

    Indeed,
a custom operator per extension would be VERY handy and is requested regularly.

This would be a great option! Currently you can only customize one option using zero or the *. Most people have it configured to go back to the main greeting but we have an after hours answering service so that is where ours is configured to go. The problem is clients will hit the zero while in our voice mail during business hours and it sends them to the answering service which we don't want. It would be so helpful if we could say hit zero to return to the main menu and 5 if this is an after hours emergency. We just switched to 3cx from an archaic 30 year old system and even it had that ability!
