A way to automatically set the Daylight savings time days so that it is always correct. Just one less thing to maintain.

We would like manage DST with very simple formulas, many phone already do it.. the rule should be for example "the first/last Saturday/Sunday of March/October at xx:xx am/pm"

    Thanks

I feel that this is currently broken in v14. They made it so it changes with the server time, but in Parameters, it still has "'TIME_DST_START_DAY" etc, which still causes the phones to change.

I just wish that the phone system time would follow the time on the computer it is running on. My computers are always right. I don't need the hassle of updating parameters in the troubleshooting section (sheesh!) and then forcing all my phones to re-provision. What a waste of time. Or, maybe, we should just petition congress to eliminate Daylight savings time altogether.

Legs kicked up - cold brew in hand - didn't have to worry about DST here in sunny Arizona.
Everything continues to work as I left it on Friday afternoon.

I'd vote for DST all year instead. Either way, 3CX time change seems buggy - some yealink phones work others don't...

Yep. Just about 99.99% of all 3CX installations would benefit from this, I guess.

Even worse, documentation on this topic is so poor that I had to bother support with it. They returned in a snap, and solution is simple (when you know) but still - waste of time for all of us.

I hate when users put stupid questions: "Why is the time on my phone wrong? It can't be a big deal to get it right!". True. Just one more thing to do, that could have been avoided.

I believe that DST settings should be removed completely from 3CX and it should instead set all things related to time based on the server time. The server time will always be correct and then you don't need to screw around with DST in the phone system.

With the Yealink v80 firmware and 3CX it is now possible to configure the phones once for this and leave it alone.

The v80 Yealink firmware supports this very well and 3CX's current template activates it correctly. v80 firmware is now supported by the T4x series in 3CX for all model phones. I don't have any older T2x or T3x series phones to verify if those are supported.

It sets Daylight Savings Time to a new v80 firmware variable of "Automatic" which will auto configure the appropriate values such as for us (EST-5) "Second Sunday in March to First Sunday in November".

I am wondering, is it possible already to use for example the last Sunday of October in a provisioning template, instead of specifically defining the exact day, such as Sunday, Oct 28th?

I have seen this working in other software like this: Instead of only supporting month, day and hour, it also supports "week". So, if you pick week = 5, it means the last week of the month. Then you just pick the day (e.g. Sunday) and you are good to go.
