I'm just about finished with a 4 city installation with 5-10 per site except one site with over 20+ phones. The new provisioning options for the yealink phones are great, but annoying to make sure that you've changed the 12/24 hour option, default ring, time out values for every phone.

We should be able to set up a site/group default that the options default to so that provisioning is easier for large installs.

Could you please add confguration options on the provisioning page for:
-Disable features.remote_phonebook.enable (otherwise we loose SIP informations (ex Q1:CallerName))
-Disable contact photo phone_setting.contact_photo_display.enable

Thanks

We are making a copy extension feature....

We are making a copy extension feature....
That's not what we're asking for...

Say I have 500 extensions in place on 15.5 and upgrade to SP1. Copy Extension does nothing to set 12/24 time.

However, if I have a tab on the templates page for Provisioning Defaults and I can set those, then swing back to the extension page, select a batch of phones, hit "apply template defaults"... BAM! Done.

Having to remember to set every phone to 12 hour, LED blink on VM only, Keep backlight on... 20+ times... Yes. We need to be able to set a default for the provisioning settings. Even worse is deploying all the phones and finding out that you need to reprovision them with a custom template because something's not available yet (Phonebook entries) in the phone options.

being able to to copy settings to a batch of phones will be very useful, but being able to setup site defaults would be better :)

Basically we want to set all but the most obscure auto-provisioning settings. ;)

In an ideal situation, one should be able to configure a device without the account info and network settings, and upload the other settings as an auto-provisioning file.

But specific auto-provisioning request my customers made:
- Background image setting (requested by *all* our clients
- Internal / external ringtone differentiation
- Time settings (24 hour, date format on display)
- Power led behavior (' can you make the power led behave like a busy light?')
- Record DSS Key (it already works when audio is delivered by the server, so why not addi it)
- forward to specific number BLFs on Yealink devices. People want to have the ability to forward their extension with a single button press (with accompanied LED) especially usefull for fowarding calls to Consignment Services.
- Programmable key names and behaviour in Yealink (names of the default: History, P-book, DND, Menu,)
- Call display Behaviour on Yealink (name and number only, please :)
- Default volume setting after provisioning (yep people complained about that)

Yes. I recently upgraded Yealink firmware on multiple installs. Now each extension provisioning has the new options for clock, backlight, power led etc., but at defaults customers don't like. Immediately started getting calls from clients. Have to go back through each client and change settings on every extension.

Maybe per server be able to set defaults for these options per phone template (I set the clock for 12 hour) so all phones using this template will get the configured options on new extension creation and also existing phones will update on the 24 hour auto reprovision. Extension provisioning tabs could default to and have the extra option under each configurable setting "use template defaults". So phones will use the default settings configured for that phone template but can still explicit override for an extension if you wanted to change clock setting from "use template defaults", to manually select "use 24 hr clock".

So as long as all options on provisioning tab of an extension are set to "use template defaults", if we want to change function of the power LED, then all we'd have to do is change that setting in the phone template defaults and wait 24 hours for them to auto reprovision, or reprovision them manually.

I can't say this without unintentionally coming across as a tool, but this was already posted as an idea. With almost the same title even:

As a community, it helps everyone to upvote existing suggestions rather than creating duplicate posts. Please search before posting.

Thankfully the devs are picking this one up.

Something like the following would be great:
GUI > Phones > list of supported phones making use of the default template

Select a phone for your environment - 2 buttons, Additional Configuration, Default Configuration

Additional Configuration - provide a set of 20 boxes, 10 down, 2 across allowing us to fill in additional custom commands with their relevant values in the 2nd box, button to add more boxes. These would be essentially linked to the default template and stored separately so they survive upgrades.

Default Configuration - Display the relevant 3CX supported options for the phone and their default values with boxes for us to override the default. Again saved elsewhere that will survive upgrades. When provisioning a new extension, we can select this model and it will pull across all the default values but also allowing us to override them before pressing OK to provision.

For us - the ability to bulk edit the phone options would be a great start. For various reasons we could not set this when creating the extns so no we're about to go live we have to manually edit 100 extns one at a time.

We are making a copy extension feature....

Can we get clarification on this statement? It seems to me that a copy extension feature is not going to resolve what is needed/being asked. What we need is way to have supported template presets that we can modify with access to additional options.

I fully agree with the theme - it is a very silly job to change the templates for 100s of phones each phone manually...

Bump on this. Ideally, a PBX Global default should be allowed for settings like Date and Time Format, transfer method, LLDP, Ringtone for calls, ring groups, queues, etc, Power LED notifications, Backlight Timeout, Saver Timeout, and VLAN settings.

Group Defaults would be a huge added bonus for larger cloud installs.

This would allow mass changes to extensions for these settings without having to touch each one. As we move away from custom templates to using the 3CX default template there is too much room for error when changing dozens of extensions and setting individually on each system.

Yes - a lot of the individual "idea" posts would be covered by the ability to set more template options, and then bulk apply to a set or subset of extensions.

- Background image setting
- Internal / external ringtone differentiation
- Default volume setting after provisioning
- Multicast Listener (atleast the first entry)
- BLF for Paging Groups (instead of using a Custom Speed Dial)

and ability to set site or group defaults.
