    We normally make the following changes to the default template for every installation. We normally use Yealink, so this might be different on other phones.

    local_time.time_format = 0
    This sets the local time to 12 hour format. In the U.S., only members of emergency services and current or former military know 24 hour time. Others mostly get a blank look on their face when 1:00 P.M. arrives.

    account.1.label = %%extension_number%%
    People forget their extension numbers and this at least show it on their phone. The label and line keys only show their name. And line keys only show a few characters on the smaller phones.

    phone_setting.lcd_logo.mode = 0
    The default mode flashing every few seconds drives people crazy.

    programablekey.2.label = Dir (we do a bulk search and replace)
    Most systems that I am aware of uses Dir or Directory for the directory. People are confused by 3CX PBook and on most of the smaller phones, it is larger then the amount of characters allowed.

    We make the following changes for certain clients.

    features.config_dsskey_length = 1
    This gives us the wide BLF key. Should be the default.

    We make the following change if the client wants attendant transfer on BLF instead of default unattendant transfer.
    transfer.dsskey_deal_type = 1

    Since you cannot reprovision from the console for custom templates behind a SBC, we have to change the normal template and keep a unedited copy available to re-provision one if we need support.

    I wish 3CX could allow us to change these settings in a custom template and re-provision behind a SBC. This would make life so much easier since every time a new template is released, we have to make all the changes again.

    Or better yet, change the first four setting in the template so we don't have to make these changes every time a new template is released during updates.

    Just my thoughts
