This is a much loved and time-saving feature from another vendor's IP PBX. When you receive a VM as an attachment via email, the email has two links, labeled "Save Message" and "Delete Message." When you click either one, your email client opens a new Reply message with a specially coded Subject line. When you click Send in your email client, the Reply message is sent to the email account used for sending outbound messages from the PBX. The PBX polls this account periodically to see if there are any such Replies, then reads the Subject line to identify the specific message and determine its fate. "Save Message" Replies, are of course marked as Read while others are simply deleted.

Yes, you can manage your VM using 3CXPhone for Windows/iPhone/Android much more easily.... but if you're bothering to have your VM sent to you by email, then 3CX should make it easier to manage. This method saves quite a lot of time for those (many!) users who still manage their VM the old fashioned way - through a phone device of some sort - but have made the incremental step forward with newer technology and are having messages delivered via email.

3cx does make it easier to manage - Email and Delete from Server.
Then they are only in your Email.
Delete it there if you do not need it.
