    Hello,

I was wondering what is the best way to handle my situation. I am using a desk phone most of the time but when I am out of the office I like to use the 3CX soft phone to receive and make calls. However the problem is when I exit 3CX when I return to the office my desk phone no longer works and is disconnected from the PBX it seems. All calls go right to voicemail instead of my extension ringing. They only way to solve this is to unplug the desk phone and restart then everything works without issue. Is there away to use both the desk phone and soft phone with the same extension without having the desk phone disconnected once the soft phone is activated?

It is not normal, that a second device, even with the same extension number, causes the first device to stop registering.
I would check the 3CX logs to see what is going on. Every SIP device should register (at least) every 30 minutes with 3CX or it will be considered "gone" and not available for calls.
