Dial known extension and dial by name

    I'm adding some extra functionality to a clients Digital assistant using VAD.

    They currently use both dial extension and dial by name on their IVR.

    How can I easily replicate this on a VAD designed IVR?

    Hi Adam,

    Replicating all that feature is not simple, but can be done with the VAD.

    You would have to query the 3CX database via the 3CX Call Control API (http://www.3cx.com/blog/docs/call-control-api/) using an External Code Execution component, to check if the number entered by the customer matches an extension first name or last name.

    You would have to create a .NET DLL and call the API from your DLL, then call this DLL from the VAD.
