Digital receptionist out of hours

    Hi,

    Is it possible to have a digital receptionist change its behaviour depending on the time of day?

    e.g. Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm it plays announcement A.wav and allows option 1,2,3,4 and then out of these times it plays announcement b.wav and only allows options 1 and 2?

    Yes it is possible. Here is the way I do it... there may be other ways.

    Create a dummy extension. I call my the "routing extension"
    Your inbound route goes to that extension.
    In the Forwarding rules in the Available tab, you say "Send call to" your main digital receptionist that has a.wav and options 1,2,3,4
    In the Exceptions tab you set the "Received during" dropdown to "Specific Hours" and put in the hours you want your alternate digital receptionist that has b.wav and options 1,2.
    You set your Exceptions tab to "Forward to" your alternate IVR

    So you set up your 2 different Digital Receptionists, create a dummy routing extension, set the forwarding on that extension to point to your main IVR and then in the dummy routing extension in the exeptions you set your times that you want the alternate to be used and set the forward to that.
