Disable Recording Rights

    Maybe I am missing something but I cannot find how to disable recordings for an extension. Can someone please enlighten me.

    Recording for all users is disabled by default.
    - If you tick the option to record all calls, it will record all calls for that extension.
    - If you leave it unticked, it will not record anything.


    Normal users cannot enable recording for their extensions. Only the Administrator should have access to the 3CX PBX, this means that only the administrator can enable recording for each extension.

    This wont stop manual recordings though

    I do not have the option ticked but the call can still be recorded from the windows client. I cannot access the recording, but it is recorded.

    Thats what i meant by manual recording, you cannot stop the user recording but you can stop them accessing the recordings.

    Under extension - Phone provisioning - change to IP chone (drop down) - Untick Show call recordings and Allow deletions

    Also you can make sure under rights, Allow downloads of call recordings is unticked if user has PBX console access
