Displayed name on all phones incorrect

I am using 3CX (paid version) with Polycom VVX500 phones and some other misc Polycom models.
All had been working, but some recent change had caused all the VVX500 phones to display the wrong caller-name on the display for all incoming and outgoing calls.

e.g. Calls to any # would say "JOHN SMITH", and calls received from any # would say "JOHN SMITH".

The problem name is a single user in the 3CX system is shown for all calls. There is no device attached to this user.(just a virtual extension) This user is not in the local phone directory either

What is the logic for displaying the names? Are these cached?

Dumb user error. Thinking the directory was not in the phone, in fact it was. There was an input error that had no phone # for this user.
