Installing for the first time and the documentation seems to say that there needs to be a DNS server on the local network as well as an entry on an external DNS server for incoming traffic/clients

Does any one know of a Windows DNS server with a query forward capability, bundled with a DHCP server would also be nice.

Any advice on this requirement would be appreciated

    Thanks

    Hi There

The requirement for an external FQDN is mandatory when requiring external connection. Although an internal DNS is only required when using the Single FQDN option where you will be required to configure the external FQDN internally using the Split DNS option. You do though have an option, during the installation, to choose the second option on the FQDN window. External FQDN and Internal FQDN, enter the external FQDN but instead of a local FQDN enter the Local IP of the 3CX Phone System server.
