    Good afternoon all,

    I've got a question/problem, I think regarding DTMF.

    The configuration:
    3CX v7.04.4744.0 PBX
Patton M-ATA (extention 282) connected to an analogue Home Control Box
Granstream, Snom and Linksys SIP phones.
Direct lines using a VoIP provider.

    The problem:
When I call a Home Control Box (HCB) with a SIP phone (Linksys, Snom and Grandstream), the call is awnsered and I can sent DTMF tones to enter the pin for the HCB. Everything fine.
When I configure a line from a VOIP provider to connect directly to the extention of the HCB, the call is connected and I can hear the menu speaking, but the PIN I have to enter is not accepted. It acts like it does not receive any numbers.
When I configure the line to be awnsered by a 3CX Digital Receptionist, I can make a choise without any problem.
Allready tried to add the extention to a digital recptionist, but this also does nog make any differance.

The logfile (verbose with **** at the telephone numbers):
    14:28:09.425 [CM503008]: Call(3154): Call is terminated
    14:28:09.425 [CM503008]: Call(3154): Call is terminated

It sound like the HBC requires audio DTMF (In-Band) and won't accept RFC2833. From the looks of the logs, for what ever reason, in-band has been disabled. Since the calls are coming from a VoIP provider I'm assuming that they aren't sending In-band DTMF and only RFC2833 which would normally be decoded and then a DTMF tone generated at the receiving end. Perhaps 3CX doesn't do this when a call is extended to an extension. If you place a call via your VoIP provider, come into the board and answer the extension, can you hear DTMF tones sent from the callers phone? If you can then perhaps they are too short a duration. i know I've had problems with DTMF in the past, not 3CX, when any codec with a lower bit rate than G711A or U has been used.

    Hi Leejor,

Thanks for your reply. I've been testing with your tips and some other things I found in another post.

I discovered that the problem had to be in the Patton, since a Linksys gateway (SPA3102) was working fine!
After some struggling, I found out that the RTP port values were not defined. After setting these, it finally worked.

Current config (maybe useful for others):
Send DTMF Events: In-Band & OOB
    RFC2883 payload value: 96
    Regenerate OOB DTMF Tone: Enabled
    RTP Port Min: 16384
    RTP Port Max: 16482
