    Anyone out there working on a 3CX server that;

    (a) low power consumption
    (b) ultra-small profile
    (c) good processing speeds, RAM, storage
    (d) fanless :)
    (e) memory card flash-based hard drive

    Note: this solution would not permit using a INTERNAL PCI FXO-to-SIP card, but since they have integrated NICs you can use a Patton or VOIP provider like most 3CX deployments.

    I am currently developing solutions. Could use any feedback.

    Actually I successfully run 3CX on this board http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/motherboards/D945GCLF/D945GCLF-overview.htm with standard 80 Gb Samsung HDD. I use this case http://www.chenbro.com/corporatesite/products_detail.php?serno=127

    Also you can get this machine http://www.crunchgear.com/2008/11/29/msi-windbox-is-a-vesa-mounts-best-friend/
    Very cool! This is total 3CX embedded solution.

    1sr, 5qg4. Thank you for your feedback.

    2nd, IGOR, great information. That MSI setup would work nicely! Appears it does not have a SSD (solid state drive) but the form factor is VERY small and it appears to have no fans. I am not sure about the processor though. Intel Atom processor may not be enough power to drive a 3CX system with 2 - 4 extensions with simultaneous calls, voicemails, VOIP trunks, etc.

    Maybe 3CX will chime in on this.

    THe 3CX server processing most of calls in bypass mode, so the load on the server is minimal. So you can use this PC in relatively large setup. http://sites.google.com/a/3cx.com/3cx-wiki/Home/technical-documentation-dash/media-server
    And if you use only G711 codec, the load is very small also. I prefer HDD, but not SSD, because you can store many voicemail on it, and it cheap. This MSI PC costs under 300$!

    I'm running it on the D945GCLF with 2 gig of memory. There is a small fanless power supply available (not using that yet) the runs off of 12 volts. There is a small fan mounted on the board. Next step is the solid state drive.

    Good! Good!

    This is the type of discussion I wanted to get started. This solution would be helpful for anyone wanting to run 3CX on a appliance rather than a typical PC with size and noise.

    Keep up the good work. I would like to see any 3CX systems running on micro-appliances or fanless setups!
