    Hello,

I was redirected here by 3CX support engineer Andreas Psyllos to post an idea for a possible new feature.

We have a customer who uses 3cx phone for Windows. When they type the first numbers of the phone number they'd like to call, the 3cx phone displays the internal numbers that correspond with the typed number.
Example; the customer wants to call the number 123456789, but when they type 123, they see the internal numbers 1230, 1231, 1232, 1233, etc.
They don't want to see internal numbers when typing a number in 3cx phone.
We've already excluded all the extensions from this problem by checking the "do not show in company phone book" box in the extension options page.
3CX support tells us it's not possible to exclude Call Centers, Ring Groups and Digital Receptionists from the company phone book. We would like to be able to exclude those numbers as well.

    With kind regards,
    Ties Minkels

Agree, we have the same requirement to hide the system, ring group and call queue extensions from the company address book.

If added - please do so as an option only not a mandatory change.

YES! There's no good reason why Digital Receptionist/IVR and Ring Group "extensions" should automatically appear in a phonebook visible to users, without admin options to NOT display those extensions. And there are plenty of reasons why a system admin wouldn't want users seeing or dialing those non-user extensions. It's simply bizarre that the option to "not display" in the company phonebook is available for user extensions, but not for specialized/non-user extensions. 3CX, please consider fixing this issue. Thank you!

That should be the default for virtually all changes to existing behaviours! :)

In the 3cx client the prefix added by the PBX is shown when a call is successful. The 3cx client should not show the prefix since for the user this must be transparent. In addition, it would be important to be able to hide the extensions of call queues, digital receptionist, ring groups, etc.

    Thank you.

YES!!! This option is necessary for a directory of extensions in a multiple company, so if the option "not show" appears it would be very interesting.
    Thank you!!

    I agree with CraigReilly...

I like this feature, but please add as optional, and per system extension even.
Some of the extensions are good in the list. Others I'd prefer weren't.
