Expired maintenance is downsizing PRO license to 4SC !?

    What the following email from 3CX means:

    Hi,

    Your 3CX Maintenance will expire in 10 days.

    You only have 10 days until your 3CX Maintenance expires, so we suggest you do this at your earliest convenience.


    Important: If 3CX manages your FQDN and security certificates for you, valid maintenance is required for us to continue to do so. When Maintenance or the key expires, the FQDN's and certificates will stop working. The FQDN's and certificates will be deleted 7 days after the expiry date. If you miss to renew your maintenance or key in time, you will need to perform a backup of your settings and reinstall 3CX.

    You have 90 days after the date of expiry to renew. If you fail to renew after the 90 day grace period, your PBX will be downsized to a 4SC Annual licence key.

    Does this means 3CX is punishing customers, if they don't renew their maintenance ?

    Hello @Edi Kojsi

    Assuming you are running an Annual licence then yes, once your maintenance expires your key will be converted to a 4SC standard but with maintenance. The alternative of not renewing your annual licence is to have your licence deactivated completely.

    No, the license is perpetual pro 32SC.
    The customer at this point is not willing to renew maintenance.

    In order for us to check internally why you got this email for a perpetual license i will need to you send a p.m. with a screenshot of the email you received along with the license key.

    What happens with perpetual licenses is that once the grace period expires (90 days) you will still have a Pro key with the simultaneous calls un-affected but you will no longer have the ability to upgrade to a newer version. If at some point you decide that you want to upgrade to a newer version after the grace period expires then you will need to convert your key to annual and you automatically get free maintenance for a year from the day the conversion is made. The key will be converted to Annual with the same feature set and simultaneous calls you had on your perpetual key.
