Hi,
We use Polycom phones exclusively with our 3CX deployments and have multiple V8 deployments in place. The move to V10 means using the new phone firmware and provisioning templates from Polycom with V10.
If we restore a V8 backup to a V10 install (as this is the recommend upgrade path), what happens in relation to the contents of the provisioning folder from the V8 install? Will the old firmware and old style templates from the V8 install be copied over into the provisioning folder? I see no reason why it wouldnt?
We are guessing that this is OK as long as the phones are not rebooted during the upgrade process (ie they attempt to provision themselves ) and when the V10 install is up and running, the phones will still register?
We would then plan to immediately amend the contents of the V10 provisiong folder to include the new firmware and provisioning templates and reboot phones one at a time to allow them to upgrade?
Would this work? Is there an easier way? Has anyone on here using Polycom phones, upgraded from V8 to V10?
Thanks
Paul
