One of the major issues i see is to make certain changes or if you have to reinstall v15 its almost impossible to do on a customers system during business hours yet when trying to reinstall after hours there is no one in support to release the FQDN. MAJOR PROBLEM. As a support person most major work is done after business hours. Not having the ability to release and renew FQDN in the event of a reinstall or license change causes a major problem. Please address this ASAP

The major problem here is that you are trying to mess around with a production FQDN. Otherwise it would not tell you fqdn already in use. Or you would not require resetting.

I want to remind you the times when FQDN's were very expensive. I dont think that when you used to get the SSL Cert and fqdn from thawte or symantec paying 1k US dollars you used to forget it. Now that 3CX is giving them for free, we are forgetting our domains or linking 1 license key to another fqdn..

It does not work like this.

The installation of 3CX does many things so yes - if you make a mistake or a trial or you want to experiment, you do this:
    1) You get a free key and use a dummy fqdn - thisisatest.3cx.us
    2) Plus you do not need support to release this - when you get a key you get a login to the erp and you can release this yourself.
    3) If you are using a paid key for a customer, you call the customer and ask him What hostname do you want? That is the final decision and if it is available please stick to it. Like for example microsoft - for their products, they stick to products.office.com. They don't change this or forget this. They keep it like this for years. You need to do the same Unless the customer changes the name of the business for example. Then you go in the erp and you reset it and yes you need to reinstall. (Actually in SP2 you can take a backup without license key and FQDN - like this you can restore settings on other machines and infuse the new license and fqdn in the configuration)

What is going to happen now in SP2 is that if you selected thisisatest, we will not even ask you at installation and we will go ahead and issue that cert.
