I noticed recently on another website that Grandstream are now partnering with 3CX, is this why this has occured ?.

Are the Cisco SPA phones also still 'preferred' when v10 is finaly released, or will there only ever be one preferred phone manufacturer ?.

Re: Grandstream GXP xxxx IP phones are now preferred phones

I guess it depends on what "preferred" means and by whom.

Re: Grandstream GXP xxxx IP phones are now preferred phones

the list of preferred phones is based on the simple criteria - "easy to use"+"easy for support".
We will be glad if all phones will be included to the list of preferred phones

Build quality doesn't come into it then ;)

Explain how you went about it with more detail please. I just finished 3 GXP2110 PNP provisioning with same firmware as you with Beta 2 with no problems at all.

did you check the new how to on the new GXP PNP provisioning?

Sure.
Grandstream appeared in Phones. I added existing number and nothing happened.

Re: Grandstream GXP xxxx IP phones are now preferred phones

it didn't take you to the phone provisioning tab of the existing extension? just kept you at the phones node page?

Re: Grandstream GXP xxxx IP phones are now preferred phones

I chose in Auto Provisioning tab, phone model and language.
Yealink in this case, reboots after OK pressing.
Grandstream - not.

Re: Grandstream GXP xxxx IP phones are now preferred phones

You need the current beta firmware on the Grandstream phones, at least version .56

Re: Grandstream GXP xxxx IP phones are now preferred phones

My firmware - 1.0.1.66

Sorry, I don't understand. What do you mean?
I think it is obvious that "easy to use" and "easy for support" are not compatible with "bad build quality"

Re: Grandstream GXP xxxx IP phones are now preferred phones

For us it worked best with the beta. We will try it with the new official releas that is newer than the beta.

Re: Grandstream GXP xxxx IP phones are now preferred phones

Bingo!
After changing firmware through phone web-interface (before was through TFTP)
Provisioning starts working from Windows console and from web.

Re: Grandstream GXP xxxx IP phones are now preferred phones

Yes we worked a lot with Grandstream and interop is going very good.

of course build quality comes into question - it is the focal point. The phone needs to be upgraded to the latest firmware - then you will start seeing results.

When 3CX Releases a new version, the documentation that comes out with it should be read. The version number is printed on the guide. Failure to do so will result in a lot of tampering and you will feel like you are walking in the unknown - not knowing who to blame - whether 3CX, the phone or something you will be doing wrong. Then frustration starts to build up.

So please read what we publish. Also we are monitoring constantly to help you guys out.

Another version was released shortly after - Download again
http://www.3cx.com/downloads/3CXPhoneSystem10.exe
Build version 18686_1567

This version will detect the phone and after detection, select automatically the appropriate template for you. So you will not have to select the template yourself. Just right click on the ,multicast entry in the phones page, Add extension and press ok. Or add existing extension and press ok. MAC and template will be selected and phone will provision.
