Allow groups to be set up with separate outbound Caller ID. Currently you have to setup called ID per extension if you need it to be different. Use case would be that different departments would want outside numbers presented separately. Also would be great to have an override for 911 in these groups, so that if an extension with a DID calls out and normally presents with that DID as caller ID, 911 would override with the group caller ID.

One option is to setup multiple SIP trunks to the same provider (many providers will let you do this with no additional cost). Each SIP trunk can be configured with a different outbound caller ID. Then create outbound rules that say, if call is coming from this group, use connection 1, and calls from the other extension group use connection 2. You could do the same thing at the extension level rather than using groups. There are more complicated options, but this is an easy approach. For more detailed 911 notifications, take a look at our 3CX 911 Emergency Notifier. We can notify emergency responders by phone, email, SMS and desktop alerts, the exact location of the person who dialed 911, including building, floor, pillar, cube.
