how can we test if a PSTN gateway have registered correctly?
If it is registering with the 3CX PBX, then it would show in as registered when you opened the administration manager pages. The 3CX logs would confirm, or show a problem, if it didn't register properly.
And, of course, if it didn't register, your calls would not go through, it's usually rather obvious if there is a problem of some sort.
Assuming that you are talking about an FXO gateway, under administration see Port/Trunk Status, Green dot = You are OK
