We are a trucking company and we are trying to make something work with 3cx that will allow for drivers to call in and check information for their unit.

The only way I can figure out to do is to to create a voicemail box for each unit (501,502,503,...) and change the greeting to what it should be. Has anyone successfully done something like this before?

They could call in to a number directed to the voicemail system, enter their extension number and PIN and then retrieve a message left in their mailbox.

It doesn't have to be done with the outgoing message.

Access could be through an option in an automated attendant.

Leaving a message would mean simply calling the extension number and recording the information. They could the receive an email (on their mobile?) telling them that a message was waiting.
