Hello !

I try to install 3CX on Windows 2003 which is a webserver. It seems that there is a conflict between IIS and the Apache Server delivered with 3CX because the Management Console does not show up (localhost:5481) / I do try to call it from the local machine.

Thanks a lot for any help to get this work !

Regards,
Fabianus

Might seem stupid but did you try it with http://localhost:5481
Mine needs the http:// added.

Hi RobLlyd,
thanks for your suggestion.
Yes, I tried http://localhost:5481, but still doesn't work.

Any other idea?

Fabianus

What about with the IP address of the machine instead of localhost?

http://192.168.2.2:5481

nope, doesn't work either. :(

Is this version 3 or 4?

What about this?
http://localhost:5481/login.php

When you installed 3CX do you have a 3CX programs listed? In there you should see a management Console with the correct link.

not either.

But according to several posts I read in the forum, there is a conflict about php (used by IIS and Apache).
It seems that there is a possibility to run 3CX with IIS. Could anyone give me a hint on how to do that?
Thanks a lot for any suggestion.

Regards,
Fabianus

Once I restarted the server I got this system error by windows 2003 :

zAppName : Apache.exe szAppVer : 2.0.58.200 szModName : php5ts.dll
szModVer : 5.2.1.1 offset : 00098b40

I tried to do what Mori suggested at the end of this post for apache.exe

http://www.3cx.com/forums/categories-1/3cx-phone-system-general-1/conflict-with-iis-and-php-1062/?highlight=IIS

but still same error.

The problem is that I may not disable php for IIS as this is a production server.

So I really need to make this work with IIS or some other workaround.

Regards,
Fabianus

there is a lot of troubles, if installing on a running w2k3 server with PHP, because 3CX installs a copy of an older PHP-version too and the 3CX-Apache (service!) may not start up in case of conflicts.

if have got the 3CX PBX running (web interface comes up, but not configurable) on a w2k3 with using the former running version of the Apache (for subversion & co) and my installed PHP.

details see here

Im running 2003 server enterprise here, with 1 webserver and all works good, i havent done any tweak to make 3cx to work i simply installed. This sounds stupid but have you tried to reinstall ?

Cheers

hi miraportuga,
did you add PHP to IIS?
If not, it is normal that you do not run into that problem.

sorry, i don't believe you, if you run a full featured w2k3 server and get 3CX PBX running without a lot of tweaks ;)

Spare XP desktop?

I'm a fan of having seperate machines for production. If your IIS server crashes and you need to reboot, you now have to shut down your phone system.

Just a thought.

My best tip is:

Take backup of 3cx, uninstall 3cx.
Tick "Turn on DEP for all programs and services". You find it under System properties -> Advanced -> Performance Settings -> DEP on Windows Server 2k3.
Reboot server.
Install 3cx and load backup.

This should do the trick.

Hi Videoblitz
I run the same system, and the only thing i "tweaked" was the DEP.
Other than that it was InstallAndPray 8)

Hi Mori,

what do you mean by
"Tick "Turn on DEP for all programs and services"."
you mean that I should turn it on or off during reinstallation. And once installed, should I turn it on again ?

Thanks for your advices.

Fabianus

Mori, I did what you told with DEP in the following mode :
"Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only".

But still I run into the same problem...

You have to choices.
Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only,
and Turn on DEP for all programs and services...

You must chose All programs selection.

Installing 3CX on Server 2003

For what it is worth we have installed 3CX on two Server 2003, and it worked "out of the box".

I am having some problems with DTMF though, but that is a different kettle of fish
