    Hi,

I've just noticed an extension dialling a full telephone number ie 012345678901 and even although this number is listed as a DID of another user's extension on the same PBX, the call appers to obey outbound routing and it sends the call out to the trunk which will then come back in and be handled via inbound routing rules.

Yes the user should be dialling the extension number and not the DID but surely the system should identify this as a DID it manages/hosts and treat it as an internal call as going out via the trunk is incurring call costs.

Any pointers to avoid this or would anyone else consider this an incorrect way for the call to be handled ?

    Thanks

    Hello @fireflyuk

The PBX will check that the number dialled is an extension that belongs to the system. If it is not the call will be routed via the outbound rules and will obey the rules of the outbound rules. You could add the DID of each extension as a SIP ID under each extension but that will only work if the number is dialled exactly as it is specified in the SIP ID or else it will not work. You can also block the dialling of these numbers via the outbound rules to avoid being changed.
If you wish for this functionality to change you can post it as a feature request to our ideas section of the forum so it can be upvoted by other users and evaluated by the appropriate department.
