My VOIP provider charges per lookup for CNAM enquiries (caller ID name lookup). With my current asterisk system, I'm using an application that negated the need for this - it does web lookups and web service calls to public databases, doing reverse lookups on the incoming caller ID number, then injecting the Name info into the call (and subsequently to analog phones connected to ATA's).
I'm quite liking my evaluation of 3cx, and I'd love to know if there's an application that does this, or failing that at least an API that would let me roll my own.
The only reference I could find was to applications that pop up reverse lookup info on a computer screen, but that's not what I'm after, I'd like to actually do the lookup when the number arrives, and inject the name into the info sent to the phones.
Any hints?
Thanks,
g.
