IVR stopped working with error message to callers

    I have two analogue PSTN lines connected to my server via a Grandstream GWX FXO/FXS. I also have a VOIPTalk line too. I also have two Gigaset N330A IP DECT base stations running 3 handsets. Each also connects one of the two PSTN lines as a backup. The 3CX sits on a Windows 7 32-bit hosted ona virtual machine, which runs Linux Ubuntu 11.11 64-bit
    These are working fine and the system has worked without any intervention for the past 12 months.

    This problem start about a week ago.

    I have different call routing for each line as one is for HOME/personal and the other is for WORK. In both cases the IVR does not engage and an automated message to the caller, not very clear says something like "the IVR did not engage" or something. I have also noticed that the outbound message on voice mailboxes do not work either, it just goes straight in to the mailbox with the automated message about how to leave messages.

    It is as if the 3CX server can not access the wav files.... They all appear in their respective extension set ups and have be re attached too, and tried, yet they do not pick up.

    I have made two calls to both numbers and attached the configs.

    Were any updates done to the operating system? You don't say which version of windows you are running. Something must have changed for the system to stop after 12 months of running OK. Audio files/drivers? Will the system play a wav file?

    All updates are installed automatically.

    I ONLY use it for the 3CX. It is a virtual install. I.e. the main op is Linux - Ubuntu 11.011 64-bit (also up to date) running Virtuual Box, also always kept up to date.

    I do not tend to run audio files from this PC as it is just used for storage, as a source for accessing stored media for the TV and the VM running the 3CX

    I have used 3CX for a number of years in this coinfiguration and had no issues for c12 months, as you have noted. It is odd.

    I am out at at meetings all day so shall try audio files when I get back.

    You may want to see if something was updated/installed about the time that you began having the audio issues.

    OK, had another look, though not conclusive.
    I tried playing audio files via my Ubuntu and the Windows and neither played. I tried the headset I was using oin another machine and they worked fine. So I think my adio card may be US...

    Now, that may be miss leading because the warning messages play when someone calls. If the audio card was the issue then they would not play either!!!!

    Updates, that is hard to say too as it is not clear exactly when it stopped. One thing I can say, is it was c the time we were hit by the sun's radio waves the other Friday. I lost my Siemens DECT base station at the same time, and had to replace it. I am wondering if it may have knocked out the audio card too, but it still does not explain the 3CX audio on incoiming calls.

    The message seems to be more about routing the call to the IVR and Voice Mail extensions than just playing the messages, or at least accessing the messages in the first place. I know they are there and I can access them via the 3CX set up, the Windows7 desktop, the Ubuntu desktop and the LAN....

    I saw that someone else had a similar issue on a Server version, but thiers was resolved by changing default language back and forth, which I tried to no avail.

    Do you get any sort of error message when you try to play audio? If you can get your hands on another audio card, and get that to work, it may just be related to the issue. It may also be an audio software problem. I would focus on figuring out why you don't get audio. If the solar flares were as bad in your area as to affect your DECT phone, then you may be on to something.

    There is no error message when playing the wave files. Just nothing comes out...

    But what I don't. Understand is why then if it is an audio card prob The caller gets the 3CX IVR error message or the no routes available messages... the surely be no sound?
