I am running 3cx v12.5 at the moemnt.

We have an active maintenance contract; does that mean we can upgrade to the latest version?

If so, what is the upgrade path from 12.5 to 15?

    Dear slippyr4,

Yes you can upgrade to the latest version. To install a new version you will have to full backup without FQDN of your current system, un-install v12.5 and install v15 and restoring from your backup. Be careful with the backup file, you need to transfer to new location in order to avoid remove it during un-installation.
The restore will read the license key from your backup but will ask you for an FQDN.
If you have your own FQDN it will ask you for a certificate. You will need to have a certificate for your FQDN. If you do not have a FQDN then you will be given the option to be given one by 3CX which can also generate a certificate for you.
The FQDN will be active as long as you have maintenance and the SSL certificate will update automatically. Please find more details on the below link: http://www.3cx.com/blog/docs/fqdn-ssl-certificate-v15/.
One more thing you need to do if you are coming from v12.5 is convert your call history. To convert call history after upgrading to v15 directly from 12.5 you will need to run a tool that will inject the call history from the 12.5 backup into the v15 install. After the upgrade locate and run CHconverter.exe from C:\Program Files\3CX Phone System\Instance1\Bin. It will ask you for the path of the v12.5 backup file using in the upgrade, type in the location of the v12.5 backup.zip file and press enter. Please let us know if you need more information.
