Looking at this blog post...

http://www.3cx.com/blog/voip-howto/firewall-configuration-overview/

... there's a limit to the amount of simultaneous calls to VoIP providers/remote extensions ?.

Is this correct ?. I've heard of 3CX being used in call center scenarios so in theory they'd need to support far more than just 25 simultaneous calls ?.

Thanks.

Re: Maximum simultaneous calls VoIP providers/remote extensi

The restriction is only by the licence you have, so the free version is limited to 4, the next version to 8, so the maximum is limited only to the licence you buy. Of course there is a limit based on the hardware and codec's and bandwidth, but someone has already written an article about that on the forum, sadly don't have the link to hand.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the reply.

I'm aware of the licensing for simultaneous calls within 3CX itself, we're licensed for 16, but the blog post specificaly states that in regards to external connections (SIP trunk provider and extenal extensions) you're limited to 25 calls/audio streams due to only UDP ports 9000 to 9049 being used :(

Thanks.

Re: Maximum simultaneous calls VoIP providers/remote extensi

Sorry !
Sadly not heard of a Trunk/line restriction, always had it explained to me as restriction on call segments. So can't offer any furterh guidance, but would be interested to know. Right now our clients are probably in the 8-16 license category, but 1or2 could be 25 or even higher, so clearly important to know the out come.
If you have support you could always raise a ticket there, as it appears to be a very specific technical issue, and then post back the answer so the rest of us can learn something !
Good luck

Could you please try to look in the Settings->Network page? There are the settings you are looking for.

Thanks

So do we need to have 2 ports for each active call open, so for a 25 user license the default is fine, for a 8 user licence using 9000-9015 would be more secure, and for a 50 user license ports 9000-9099 would need to be open?

thanks

Each try made by PBX to reach external user (VoIP_provider/remote_extension) requires 2 external ports.
